Blood Pressure and homeostasis
My BP is sitting above 140/90 and a few weeks ago it looked like it had risen again. This article links blood pressure to the control of body temperature. So while I am probably sensitive to sodium, bike commuting in the Melbourne summer may be causing some problems with blood pressure as well.
My reading of the article is that rising body temperatures puts a demand on the cardiovascular system to transport heat out of the core to the skin, which pushes up blood pressure.
I am going to get my hands on a device for continually measuring BP to look for correlations.
